Sir.. Jee

WHEN YOU BECOME

SIR JEE ” FROM “SIR ”

a.k.a. Superseded/ सरकारी  जमाई/ Thank You etc

और ये क्या नयी चीज है?

  • When it comes to promotions, Armed Forces have the steepest pyramidal structure, causing dissatisfaction at each selection stage for those not empaneled. It’s a fair but bitter process most have to endure.

  • However, it’s not just missing the promotion; it’s the system’s reactions (limited future avenues, poor employability, social dynamics, rank driven perks/ privileges, impact on family etc) that rubs the most. It’s the “Grey Zone” of a fauji’s existence (to some it’s acceptable, for others it’s un-acceptable). That is also when one becomes “Sir..Jee” for the environment.

  • Generations have endured this, but something is still not right. Pushing the pain under carpet and letting time to heal, isn’t the correct solution. Without formal mechanisms to cope with supersession, many face trauma/ depression/ anxiety, leading to sub-par future choices (ie poor exit/ pained continuance).

  • Thus, in the long term, civil/ corporate world doesn’t value the premium of brand “Armed Forces” that a veteran carries, consequent to poor transition/ choices during supersession phase. And, as Indian Economy grows, diminishing value of the brand “Armed Forces” may only exacerbate, leading to poor traction for veterans in the growing economy, as well as, directly impacting the intake of aspiring young minds.

  • Based on the same, this blog endeavors to help Armed Forces personnel to correctly understand and smoothly transition through the “Sir..Jee” phase, back to being a “Sir” again. Curated from open source, “Sirjee.in” aims to serve as a one-point guide, to help affected (yet aspiring) persons to better plan a winning strategy for exit from Armed Forces.

  • Contributions/ experiences are most welcome, which will further be curated onto this Blog, for the benefit of the Armed Forces Family.
